First-gen American. 20 years in the field. Building the ownership map my family never had — in public, for the ones who never got the manual.
I started in the streets. I found my way to a CDL, then to utility vegetation management, then to field operations. Twenty years of showing up before anyone else woke up. Doing the work nobody saw. Building a reputation the hard way.
After Hurricane Maria, I was on the ground in Puerto Rico for seven months — managing crews, restoring power, working the frontlines. I watched land sell at distressed prices and real opportunity move in real time. I couldn’t act on any of it. Not because I wasn’t paying attention. Because nobody in my family line had ever been handed that part of the blueprint.
Hard work was the tool we were given. Ownership was the chapter nobody taught us.
I came home with $100,000 and a mandate. I started learning the second page — acquisitions, financial literacy, how assets actually work. Not from a classroom. From mentors, from mistakes, from being in the room and figuring it out.
Now I’m documenting it in public. Every step. So the next person who looks like me doesn’t have to start from scratch.
